Extended black pack
The silver bumpers, skidpans and grille bar come off and gloss black goes on. Bumpers come all the way off the car, so it is a proper job rather than a stick-on kit.

How much does a Land Rover Defender body kit cost in the UK?
Supply-only branded kits typically run from about £700 to £10,000 before painting and fitting are added, and full conversions elsewhere can pass £30,000. Our Utopia Kit is £3,999 inc VAT, supplied, painted and fitted in Durham, and every part on this page shows its fitted price.
Can I reclaim the VAT on a Defender rear seat conversion?
We supply a detailed VAT invoice on every job so your accountant has exactly what they need. Your specific VAT position depends on how the vehicle is registered and used, so always check with your own accountant for advice on your situation.
Are the rear seats road legal and crash tested?
Yes. We fit genuine ScotSeat M1 type-approved benches, crash tested for frontal impact, belt anchorage and head restraint geometry. ISOFIX child anchorages are included as standard.
Most converters charge extra for ISOFIX. We don't.
How long does a Defender build take in the workshop?
Most jobs are a few hours. A rear seat conversion is around 4 hours, an Extended Black Exterior Pack is about 5 hours, a full vehicle wrap is 2 to 3 days.
We'll give you a realistic time slot when you confirm the build. For most kits you can drop off in the morning and drive away the same day.
Do you fit all three Defenders, 90, 110 and 130?
Most parts fit all three. A few are 90 and 110 only (genuine JLR mudflaps for example). The rear seat conversion is for Hardtop Commercial 90 and 110.
Every part card lists exactly which models it fits, so check the fitment line before you add it to your build.
Where is your workshop and do I need to come to Durham?
Unit 1, Dragonville Industrial Park, Dragon Lane, Durham, DH1 2XJ. We're five minutes from the A1 and easy reach of the A19.
Customers travel from Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Yorkshire and beyond. Easy off-street parking on site.
What warranty do I get on the work?
12 month workmanship guarantee on every install. Parts carry their own manufacturer warranties on top: Hunters Prestige, Urban Automotive, genuine JLR and Global Telemetrics.
Window tint film comes with a lifetime warranty.
Can I supply my own parts?
We're keen to look at fitting any part you've sourced yourself. We're an approved fitter for Hunters Prestige and Urban Automotive, and source from Stratstone JLR and other suppliers where needed. Send us a photo with the brand and model first and we'll let you know if we can fit it, and what the labour would be.
Fitting customer-supplied parts is at our discretion. If a part you've sourced turns out to be a poor fit or fails after install, we can't be held responsible for the part itself. We stand behind the workmanship of every fit, but not parts we didn't supply.
Are cheap copy body kits from eBay worth buying?
We look at plenty of them, and the ones we see usually need extra work to fit properly and the finish rarely matches the car. Put that right at workshop rates and the saving is gone.
Genuine Hunters Prestige and Urban Automotive parts fit first time and carry a real warranty.
Will modifications affect my car insurance?
Most modifications need declaring to your insurer. Some can affect your premium, others won't. We'd always recommend a quick call to your insurer before booking so you know exactly where you stand on cover and cost.
We supply itemised invoices that make it straightforward to declare what's been fitted.
Are body kits and wide arches road legal in the UK?
Yes, fitted properly. Arches need to cover the tyres, nothing can have sharp edges and everything has to be securely fixed, which is exactly what a professional fit is for.
The one exception on this page is the roof light bar: it is not MOT compliant switched on, which is why we hard-wire it to its own switch.
Do I need to tell the DVLA about a body kit?
No. Arches, spoilers, side steps and styling parts are cosmetic, so nothing on the V5C changes.
Anything that would genuinely change the vehicle's structure or seating is a different conversation, and we'll tell you before it is fitted.
Are these modifications reversible if I want to return to standard?
Most are. A full vehicle wrap is fully reversible and protects the original paint underneath. Stick-on parts (spoilers, tail light covers, badges, branding lettering) come off cleanly. Wheels, mudflaps and lighting that use the factory wiring can all be removed.
Items that aren't reversible: brake caliper painting, the SVR vented bonnet (it replaces the factory bonnet), and the rear seat conversion (bolt-fixed to the floor with sealed install holes). If you're on a lease and need everything returned to standard at the end, tell us before booking and we'll guide you to the reversible options.
Will a body kit hurt my Defender's resale value?
Recognised parts fitted properly tend to help a Defender stand out rather than hurt it, and most of what we fit is reversible, so you can always return to standard. Cheap unbranded kits are what put buyers off.
Keep your itemised invoice. Buyers like proof the work was done right.
Will modifications affect my Land Rover factory warranty?
Most cosmetic modifications (wheels, body kits, wraps, calipers, lighting) won't void your Land Rover factory warranty. Under UK Block Exemption rules, the manufacturer can only refuse a warranty claim if they can demonstrate a modification directly caused the specific fault.
If you're under factory warranty and not sure about a specific upgrade, a quick check with your Land Rover dealer first is worth doing. Our 12 month workmanship guarantee covers everything we fit.
Do you paint match body kit parts to my Defender?
Gloss black parts arrive finished from Hunters Prestige and Urban Automotive. Anything going on in a body colour is matched to your Land Rover paint code, and if a finish is not right against the car, it does not get fitted.
How far in advance should I book my Defender in?
Lead time varies a lot depending on the job. Sometimes we can fit you in the next day, sometimes a full build needs a few weeks' notice. Workshop slots fill up fast for bigger builds and rear seat conversions, so the sooner you message us the better.

Do you take a deposit and how does payment work?
Deposit varies by job and what parts need ordering in. Sometimes we don't take one at all, sometimes it can be up to £1,000. You'll know the exact figure before you commit, no surprises.

Do you fit modifications to brand new MY25 and MY26 Defenders?
Yes. We fit every modification on this page to every Defender L663 from 2020 onwards, including the latest MY25 and MY26 models and the 2026 facelift cars. Cosmetic, electronic and software activations, all of it.
Our diagnostic setup covers Land Rover's Secure Diagnostics requirement on MY26, which a lot of independent shops haven't caught up with yet. If you've just collected your new Defender and want to mod it straight away, get in touch and we'll fit you in.
Can you do a full wrap and other modifications in one workshop visit?
Yes, and we'd recommend it. We schedule wrap and bodywork mods in sequence so your car only comes in once.
Typical workflow: bodywork mods first (bonnet vents, side vents, spoilers, body kit), then full wrap over the top, then anything that bolts onto the wrapped surface last. Expect 2 to 5 days in the workshop depending on workload and the specific build. Tell us your full build at the quote stage and we'll plan the order properly.
