Car Wrapping Durham,
North East.
Full colour change wraps, partial wraps and commercial work. 10 years of experience, hundreds of full wraps completed. Quality over quantity, every time.
Durham's most trusted
vehicle wrapping studio
We take on fewer wraps than most studios. That is deliberate. Every car leaves here the way we would want our own to look.
Experience
01
10+ years, hundreds of full wraps
Our wrapper has over a decade of experience. Not just small jobs, but hundreds of full colour change wraps on everything from daily hatchbacks to Lamborghinis and Range Rovers.
Our Approach
02
Quality over quantity, always
We keep availability limited on purpose. Fewer bookings means every wrap gets the time it deserves. We would rather do four wraps brilliantly than eight badly.
Colour Match
03
See every colour before you commit
Pop into reception and browse our full range of vinyl swatches. Handle the materials, compare gloss versus satin in real light, and pick your colour with confidence before we order a thing.
Premium Materials
04
Only the films we trust
We fit 3M, Avery Dennison and Oracal as standard, with Inozetek for specialist colours and textures. All warranty backed. We do not fit cheap film, because cheap film fails and takes your paint with it.

Find out in 60 seconds. Pick your car and options below for an honest guide price on a full colour change wrap, including VAT. Every vehicle is different, so your final price is confirmed by our wrapper once he has seen the car. It may be a little less, it may be a little more.
Only brands we actually trust
We have fitted enough vinyl over 10 years to know which films last and which ones fail. These are the four we stand behind.
3M
Avery Dennison
Inozetek
Oracal
We have a preference for these four based on years of experience fitting and seeing how films age. That said, if you have seen a specific colour or finish from another brand, just ask. We have trade access to all major vinyl brands and can advise you honestly on what will work best for your car.

Car Wrapping Questions
Everything you need to know about getting your car wrapped at Utopia Tints in Durham.
How much does it cost to wrap a car?
It depends on the size of the vehicle, how much you want wrapped and which vinyl you choose. Full exterior colour change wraps at Utopia Tints start from £2,495 for a large SUV, Range Rover or Defender. Smaller cars start lower. Partial wraps such as a bonnet, roof or mirrors are priced on enquiry.
Use the price guide at the top of this page to get a guide price for your specific car in under 60 seconds.
Do you do partial wraps?
Yes. We wrap individual panels all the time. Bonnets, roofs, mirror caps, door handles, pillars, side skirts and diffusers are all common requests. Partial wraps are priced on the area involved rather than by band, so just send us a photo of your car and tell us what you want done and we will quote you the same day.
A contrasting roof on a Range Rover or Defender typically starts from £300. A bonnet on a hatchback from around £350.
How long does it take to wrap a car?
A full colour change wrap typically takes 4 to 5 working days. Some complex shapes or additional panel work can add a day or two. Partial wraps such as a roof or bonnet are usually done in a single day.
We work Monday to Saturday. Drop your car off and we will update you with photos throughout.
Will wrapping damage my paint?
No. A professionally installed wrap actually protects your factory paint from minor stone chips, scratches and UV fading. The vinyl uses a removable adhesive that peels away cleanly after years without damaging the paint underneath.
This only applies to factory paint in good condition. If your car has been resprayed, repaired or has flaking lacquer, we will assess it before booking you in and advise honestly.
How long does a vinyl wrap last?
Premium films from 3M, Avery Dennison and Oracal are designed to last 5 to 7 years on a daily driven car kept outside. Garage kept cars washed by hand regularly can get 8 to 10 years from a wrap.
Lifespan depends on UV exposure, climate and how the car is cleaned. Avoid automatic car washes with brushes and harsh chemicals. A ceramic coating over the wrap significantly extends its life and makes it much easier to keep clean.
Can a vinyl wrap be removed?
Yes. Every wrap we install can be removed cleanly. The process takes around 4 to 5 hours for a full vehicle and uses heat to soften the adhesive so the vinyl peels away without residue or paint damage.
We do not recommend removing a wrap yourself, especially if it has been on for several years. Heat needs to be applied carefully and the wrong technique can pull off paint or lacquer.
Do I need to tell the DVLA about a wrap?
Yes, if the wrap changes your vehicle's colour. The DVLA needs to be notified within 14 days so your V5C logbook reflects the new colour. Your insurer also needs to know, as a colour change is a notifiable modification on most policies.
It is a simple form on the DVLA website and takes about 5 minutes. We can give you the exact wording to use when you collect your car.
What colours and finishes do you offer?
Almost anything. We fit gloss, satin, matte, metallic, brushed metal, colour-shift, carbon fibre effect and special finishes. The most popular at our Durham studio right now is satin black and matte grey, but bright colours like acid green, candy red and Miami blue are increasingly popular.
We primarily use 3M, Avery Dennison, Oracal and Inozetek. If you have seen a specific colour elsewhere, send us a reference and we will source it or find the closest match.
Does my car need to be clean before I bring it in?
Yes, as clean as possible. The cleaner the panels, the better the vinyl bonds and the longer it lasts. We recommend a thorough hand wash within 24 hours of your appointment and to avoid waxing or polishing in the week before, as wax residue affects adhesion.
If the car arrives heavily soiled we may need to charge for prep time or ask you to rebook, so a quick wash beforehand saves time and money.
Do you offer a warranty on wrapping?
Yes. Every wrap carries a 12 month installation warranty against lifting, peeling or adhesive failure caused by our workmanship. The film itself also comes with the manufacturer's warranty, typically 5 to 7 years for the premium brands we use.
If you spot an issue, send us a photo with your original invoice and we will book you in straight away.
