The CAN-Phantom blocks the engine from starting until your unique PIN is entered. Even if a thief clones your key, captures your fob signal with a relay device, or splices into the CAN-bus via the headlight loom, the engine simply will not start. No PIN, no engine. Every time.
No. The CAN-Phantom is hidden inside your vehicle's wiring loom, has no LED, no keypad and no fob. It only emits a Wi-Fi signal when you put it into Maintenance Mode yourself. The rest of the time it is completely silent and undetectable to RF scanning equipment.
They cannot drive your car. The PIN is separate from the keys. They can sit in the car, they can unlock and lock it with the fob, but the engine will not start without your code being entered first.

No. Auto start/stop continues to work exactly as normal. The CAN-Phantom also gives you a 15 second window after the engine stops to restart without re-entering your PIN, so stalling at a roundabout will not lock you out.
You get a CAN-Phantom card during install with an emergency PIN hidden under a scratch panel. Scratch off the panel, use the emergency code, then set a new PIN of your own. Keep that card somewhere safe, like a home safe or with insurance documents.
The CAN-Phantom gives you a 15 second window after the engine cuts out to restart without re-entering your PIN. Plenty of time to recover from a stall at a junction or roundabout without faffing around.
Yes. Switch on Valet Mode from your phone via the Wi-Fi interface. The immobiliser temporarily turns off for a duration you set, or until the car exceeds a speed limit you set (handy for keeping a service driver below 30mph). Once the time or speed limit is reached, Valet Mode deactivates and your PIN protection comes back automatically.
